Organ Facts

Our Church has been blessed by an anonymous donor, who has provided a badly needed new organ to replace a 1980's Shaw 'Concept' organ, that was nearly impossible to maintain. A search committee was struck by Council to choose the appropriate make and model of a new organ for our church. The committee worked diligently for over a year to make a decision on the most suitable type of organ to acquire. With the completion of the Christmas and Epiphany season of 2014-15, the old Shaw organ was retired, and a new customized Allen Bravura L341 was installed during the period from January 9 to February 23, 2015. Fortunately, worship services were able to continue with full musical accompaniment. This was made possible with the help of Psalm 98, some piano music, and preliminary use of the new organ even before the final adjustments were made to match the organ to the acoustics of the Sanctuary.

This Allen electronic organ, which has more than exceeded our expectations, was proposed, modified and installed by Gordon Mansell, of Glionna Mansell Corp. (Toronto). This organ has 3 manuals, 58 stops, and seven cohesive tonal suites which include English Cathedral, Aeolian Skinner, Arp Schnitger, Schlicker, Cavaillé-Coll, Orchestral, and Allen Classic organ simulations.
