United Church Women

Purpose
To unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the Church and to provide a medium though which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ through Christian Study, Fellowship, and Service.

Who We Are
All women of the congregation are welcome to be part of UCW. There are two units which meet monthly on the 3rd Tuesday, Mary and Martha Circle in the afternoon, and Friends in Faith in the evening.

What We Do
Besides study and fellowship, unit activities include providing afternoon tea at a retirement home; viewing interesting DVDs, preparing gift baskets for the Deacon’s Cupboard Food Bank; collecting mitts, hats and scarves for the Open Door drop-in centre; pot luck and restaurant meals. We financially support the Mission and Service Fund and various local groups – women’s shelters, food bank, hospices, drop-in centres for adult and youth – as well as contributing to our own congregation’s needs through various fundraising activities.
